There are so, so many rich family stories in the history of both Carraway and Smith families. For years, my Grandad has urged me to write them down, and for years I have been too foolish to heed his advice. Now, with my grandparents aging, and so many interesting stories unrecorded, my mother and I have decided that it is time to write our book.
This is a first draft of sorts. A book is such an overwhelming task; the thought of actually recording all the special family tidbits in one volume is quite overwhelming. So I thought that Mom and I could start a blog through which we might be able to flesh out some of our ideas. That way, we might even get some feedback from potential readers (ie, which stories are most interesting? which bits should be left out? which bits would you like to know more about?).
It is much easier for me to sit down and type out a bunch of random thoughts than to sit down and hand write them, especially when so many thoughts swirl at once. So this will hopefully give me an outlet through which to tell our stories. We hope you enjoy.
